HD WATER TEST

Best viewed in HD full screen
I’ve been playing around with HD in Adobe After Effects, looking at how to export files more efficiently, giving better quality and a small file size. Here is a quick test I created from a photo I took.

Move over Helvetica

You can download this font for FREE here
Make way for Reznor Broken BABY! I was browsing the internet... minding my own business when BAM! This badboy hit me. I’ve been searching for who created this magnificent font but I can't find any information on it other then it was used on the Nine Inch Nails album cover "Broken and Fixed". My guess is that it was made specifically for Nine Inch Nails because all of the letters are the same regardless if caps lock is active or not, except for the letter "n".

Creative Review (The Graduates: Special Issue)

I spent most of this morning reading the September 2009 issue of Creative Review (The Graduates: Special Issue). It features the work of a selection of this year’s creative graduates. I really enjoyed the work of Matt Robinson and Tom Wrigglesworth.

Bubbles & Design Training

I only got a sketch of my niece done today. It’s mostly been a day of organising stuff, also a lot of Adobe After Effects and Cinema 4D training ready for a video I’m working on to celebrate The New Adelphi Club’s 25th anniversary which will be shown on the BBC Big Screen in Hull city centre in October.

The Evil Dead (2010)

As soon as I found out there was going to be a remake of "The Evil Dead" I took it upon myself to design something typographic with the word “BOOMSTICK!” in it.
No word on the actors as of yet but you know Bruce Campbell is going to be making an appearance... well I hope so anyway. It’s going to be directed by the legendary Sam Raimi... again. It looks like we are going to have to wait another year to find out if he out does the original.

Rebrand Logo

I began www.level87.co.uk on 7th December 2007 and I’ve had the same logo since then so I thought it’s about time I rebrand.

- Idea / Concept -
The whole idea for the new "Level87" logo is that I wanted it to project me as an individual and as a designer through this visual identity. The number "87" comes from the year I was born (1987). The circle symbolises the eternal changes in the design industry. It is an ongoing learning experience as the world develops technically, socially and creatively. The word "level" represents the skills (levels of knowledge) I have gained on a regular basis since I was introduced to graphic design in 2003.

Let’s get this show on the road

After hours and hours of hard work (html, css, stylesheets and codes I haven’t even heard of... honestly it was like The Matrix over here) I have finally got a blog on my website. It’s going to be full of creative stuff, graphic design, photography, illustrations, typography... just imagine Adobe strapped to some C4, that’s how good it's gonna be.
